Elderly Surrey man struck by car has died

The victim, a pedestrian, was 88 years old. He was hit in the 7000-block of 138th Street at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. His name hasn't been released.

SURREY — An elderly Surrey man struck by a car in Newton on Sunday night has died in hospital.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was 88 years old. The pedestrian was hit in the 7000-block of 138th Street at 8:30 p.m.

"The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and is cooperating," Surrey RCMP Staff Sergeant Joe Johal said.

The investigation continues.
