ELECTION 2017: Advance polls open today in Surrey and the rest of B.C.

Six days of advance voting for this election, up from four in 2013

SURREY — Advance voting for the 41st provincial general election in B.C. began this morning (Saturday).

Eligible voters can vote at any advance voting place in B.C.

In Surrey, the list of advance voting places includes three in the riding of Surrey-Cloverdale, four in Surrey-Fleetwood, one in Surrey-Green Timbers, one in Surrey-Guildford, three in Surrey-Newton, three in Surrey-Panorama, four in Surrey-South, two in Surrey-Whalley and three in Surrey-White Rock.

There will be six days of advance voting for this election, up from four in the last provincial general election in 2013.

Advance voting is available on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, and Wednesday, May 3 through Saturday, May 6.

All advance voting places are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., though voters should note that not all advance voting places are open every day of the advance voting period, Elections BC cautions.

In the 2013 provincial election in B.C., 366,558 votes (20.34 per cent of total votes) were cast at advance voting opportunities. CLICK HERE to see statistics posted on the Elections BC website.
