SURREY — A sixth candidate has entered the race for Surrey mayor.

John Wolanski, who ran in the previously municipal election as a council candidate, has submitted his nomination papers as of Wednesday afternoon.

A self-described "writer, lifelong learner and strong social justice advocate," Wolanski previously told the Now "I believe by solving the social problems in society we can solve the economic ones. A good government takes care of it's cities, a great government takes care of its people."

In the 2011 municipal election, Wolanski garnered 2,726 votes, coming in 26th out of 27 council candidates.
