Surrey RCMP are looking for assistance locating a man wanted for assault and possession of a weapon

Surrey RCMP are hoping the public can help them locate a man wanted on assault and weapons charges in the Surrey Centre area.

Shawn Lachance, 25, is described as a Caucasan male, 5’ 6” tall and 150 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair.

He may have a beard and is also known to wear his hair in a ponytail. Lachance has many tattoos including the word ’tum tum’ on the side of his neck and script style writing on the other side.

On November 24, 2016, Surrey RCMP was called to a pub in the 10700 block of King George Boulevard at 1:05am. A male suspect, Shawn Lachance of Langley, got into an argument with another male and eventually threatened him with a hand gun. Staff at the pub intervened to try to diffuse the situation however Lachance punched one of the staff and then threatened them with the handgun before fleeing the scene.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading this investigation and is asking for the public’s assistance to locate Lachance who is now wanted for Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
