A man is in hospital with significant injuries after a home invasion this week.
On Thursday, at about 2:15 a.m., three people broke into a home in the 10600-block 132 Street while four people were home.
The invaders, who carried a metal bar, a knife and pepper spray, demanded to see someone who was not there, but who police say is known to them and is associated with the home.
Police say at some point, one or all of the three invaders, attacked one of men at the home.
They kept beating him until someone dropped by the house and they fled.
The beating victim sustained significant, but non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to hospital.
He is also known to police.
“This was a targeted crime, and the intended target was not at the residence,” said RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann. “Unfortunately, the five people inside the home suffered the consequences for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. People need to need to be cognizant of the risk of associating with people involved in crime.”
The investigation continues.
Anyone who has any information about this crime is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
