Expect lane closures on the Golden Ears Bridge this week.

Lane closures for Golden Ears Bridge

Emergency training taking place, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for three days.

  • Nov. 1, 2016 6:00 a.m.

Drivers on the Golden Ears Bridge can expect some single lane closures during Surrey Fire Service’s emergency training Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Held in partnership with TransLink, this routine annual training for emergency preparedness will feature some high-angle rescue exercises and involve emergency vehicles, equipment and uniformed personnel on the bridge.

Vehicles will still be able to use other lanes in both directions on the bridge while the training is underway.

This emergency preparedness training is routinely conducted throughout our transit system and on our bridges to ensure the highest standards in public safety are maintained, integrate international best practices and continuously improve responses.
