CLAYTON HEIGHTS — Police are investigating after a shooting took place Wednesday afternoon in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood.

Surrey RCMP cordoned off a section of a street near 192A Street and 72A Avenue around 5:30 p.m., as well as a paved walkway that led through the neighbourhood and toward the parking lot of a pizza restaurant.

Kamal Kang, owner of D-Hut Pizza, said she heard some gunshots and looked out her windows.

“I heard someone screaming so bad to call 911,” she said.

The victim, a Caucasian man, was bleeding outside her restaurant yelling for help.

“It’s so sad. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s not safe,” Kang said.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the victim was in a minivan and was chased toward a home in the area by multiple suspects in other vehicles.

It’s believed the victim then made his way to the nearby pizza restaurant where he sought help by bystanders.
