Surrey RCMP have arrested a man for allegedly drugging another man and stealing his car.

Vancouver resident Brendan Roshinsky, 25, has been charged with administering a drug to commit an indictable offense, theft over $5,000, and motor vehicle theft.

On Nov. 8, Mounties attended a call involving a man  who was allegedly drugged by a previously unknown male who he had met online.

The suspect had allegedly given the victim a drink which rendered him unconscious. He then allegedly proceeded to steal numerous items from the victim’s residence, including electronics, cash, and his vehicle.

A toxicological examination was later done which showed levels of GHB (commonly referred to as a "date rape" drug).

During the course of their investigation, Surrey RCMP discovered Roshinsky had been in contact with other men in a similar manner.

Police believe he may have victimized other individuals and are appealing for them to come forward.

“We want to ensure that anyone else who might have been a victim under similar circumstances comes forward and speaks to us,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet. “This is a serious offence and investigators would like to identify any potential victims who are currently unknown to them.”

Roshinsky remains in custody pending his next court appearance on Nov. 27 in Surrey Provincial Court.
