Man stabbed on a Surrey bus

Police have arrested a man and are trying to determine what led to the stabbing in Whalley

SURREY — Police are investigating a stabbing on a bus in Whalley.

It happened at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, near 100th Avenue and King George Boulevard. A young man, whose name has not been revealed, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but they aren't believed to be life threatening. Another man was arrested.

"Officers are canvassing the area and speaking with passengers on the transit bus to obtain further information," Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann said. "At this point, it is still unclear if the parties knew each other or what the altercation was about."
