An off-duty Mountie who crashed her car on Highway 1 in Surrey last year will not serve any prison time after pleading guilty on Thursday to driving without due care and attention.

Const. Tina Roxanne Kerton was charged last year with care or contrail of a vehicle or vessel while impaired, but pleaded to the lesser charge in Surrey Provincial Court this week.

She was handed a $1,150 fine and is banned from driving for 45 days.

Kerton was a seven-year member of the RCMP when the single-car crash occurred on Jan. 15, 2012.

She has been on administrative duties since the incident.
