Police appeal for info after girl, 11, hit in New Westminster crosswalk

Child was left with non-life threatening injuries

New Westminster police are investigating after an 11-year-old girl was hit in a crosswalk on Thursday.

The detachment appealed for help on Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe the girl was struck by a silver or grey SUV in the crosswalk at 12 Street and 7 Avenue at about 5 p.m.

She was left with non-life threatening injuries.

“This hit and run happened in very thick fog,” said Sgt. Jeff Scott.

“Because of incidents like this we are appealing to drivers to please drive for the conditions, use your headlights, and watch for pedestrians.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to called the New Westminster police at 604-525-5411.
