Driver goes into medical distress, drives over median on King George Boulevard: Surrey RCMP

Police say the driver was taken to hospital with ‘no other serious injuries’

A portion of King George Boulevard was closed to traffic for about an hour on Thursday (May 21) after a vehicle drove over the median, Surrey RCMP say.

A driver “crossed the median” on King George Boulevard at 97A Avenue, according to a release from Surrey RCMP.

Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to a “multi-vehicle collision” near the intersection of King George Boulevard and 97A Avenue.

Police said it is “believed” that a man was drive westbound on 97A Avenue when he “went into medical distress, and crossed the median” on King George Boulevard, “colliding with oncoming vehicles.”

Surrey RCMP said the driver was transported to hospital, with “no other serious injuries” reported.

The road around 97A Avenue and King George Boulevard was closed for about an hour while officers investigated.
