SURREY — Surrey-Whalley MLA Bruce Ralston has been named house leader for the New Democrats.

“A greatly respected member of our caucus, Bruce has agreed to take on this new role, replacing John Horgan as he pursues his candidacy in the leadership race,” said NDP leader Adrian Dix.

Ralston is the party’s critic for international trade, immigration and multiculturalism.

A lawyer by trade, and former Surrey city councillor, Ralston was first elected in Surrey-Whalley in 2005, and again in 2009 and 2013.
