WELCOME ABOARD, CAPTAIN … CFB Esquimalt’s new base commander Capt. Steve Waddell has come full circle in his career.

Waddell started his naval career in Esquimalt when he attended officer training here in the late 1980s. He now returns as the base’s top seadog, and he’s pretty happy to be here.

After several years on the East Coast and in Ottawa, Waddell says you can’t beat the West Coast. We couldn’t agree more.
