Police have not made any arrests after a shooting in Cloverdale Sunday morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of gunfire after a dispute between two people in the 17700-block of 57A Avenue.

“It appears the incident was between two people that were known to each other and therefore targeted without risk to the general public,” Corporal Scotty Schumann said. “The suspect(s) fled scene prior to police attendance.”

While no arrests have been made, Schumann said the investigation remains open.

Schumann said this was the 47th shots fired incident in Surrey so far this year, which is a decline from last year.

“As of October 24th, there has been an 18 per cent decrease in shots fired over 2016, and 11 per cent decrease in violent crimes year to date as compared to 2016.”

While police were on scene Sunday, they closed off the area around 177B Street and 57A Avenue in Cloverdale.

No one was injured but police tape was up to protect evidence on scene.

Police taped off a house on 57A Avenue.
