Richmond teen charged with murder

Richmond, B.C.'s Fabian Lyde, 18, was arrested and charged Friday with the murder of Surrey's Kacey Rogers in his home on Feb. 26

The third suspect now charged with the second-degree murder of a 31-year-old Surrey man in his home on Feb. 26, is a Richmond teen.

Fabian Lyde, 18, of Richmond was arrested Friday, said Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team in a press release issued March 18.

Lyde is also facing a weapons-related charge, and is scheduled to appear in Surrey provincial court on Friday.

Lyde's arrest brings to three the number of suspects charged in connection with the death of Surrey's Kacey Rogers, who was attacked inside his home. Also charged are Surrey's Russell Bidesi, 21, and New Westminster's Joshua Martinez, 19. Bidesi and Martinez were arrested two days after Rogers's murder.

"This was a planned home invasion turned deadly," Cpl. Adam MacIntosh of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said.

According to investigators, Rogers was shot to death on Sunday, Feb. 26 around 10:30 p.m. in his home on the 14000 block of Grosvenor Road. Rogers was not known to police and was apparently the victim of a targeted attack.
