Scare over white powder ends quickly at Surrey post office

SURREY — Cloverdale's Canada Post office was evacuated early Wednesday over a mysterious white powder that turned out to be nothing more than a veterinarian supplement.

A Hazmat team was called in after the white powder tumbled out of a package and onto the office floor.

Surrey RCMP Sgt. Dale Carr said there were no injuries and no one was taken to hospital.

"Contrary to some reports there has been no explosion of any kind," he told the Now Wednesday morning.
