Fire crews battle a blaze in North Delta early Wednesday morning.

It was the second time the North Delta home caught fire in four days, and firefighters consider both blazes as suspicious.

The house fire at 11353 74 Ave. first caught fire just after noon on Saturday, June 2.

"It's considered suspicious and police are investigating further," said Robin Cullen, Delta's Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention.

Then at almost 3 a.m. Wednesday, the house caught fire again.

"Extensive damage, this time right through the roof," Cullen said. "Nobody was hurt, nobody was in the house at the time."

He estimates it took fire crews about two hours to put out the second fire, and crews remained on scene for some time after that to watch for hotspots.

Cullen said the family's insurance company put them up in alternate housing right away.
