DriveBC says the westbound Tannery Road on-ramp on Highway 17 is currently closed after a semi-truck carrying a shipping container flipped on its side.
The “large vehicle incident,” according to a DriveBC tweet, happened around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Shortly after 2 p.m., DriveBC tweeted that the on-ramp remained closed, but a picture showed tow trucks on scene to move the shipping container.

A Black Press Media freelancer on the scene said the semi-truck was pulling a shipping container and flipped on its side as it turned onto the on-ramp. The freelancer added the driver of the semi was transported to hospital.
BC Ambulance Service, Surrey Fire Service, RCMP and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement were all on scene of the crash.
