Shots were fired in a high-speed chase in suburban Surrey Saturday afternoon, damaging a car and frightening residents of a quiet neighbourhood.

Surrey RCMP were called to the 8800 block of 139th Street shortly after 1 p.m., where residents reported that the occupants of a white Nissan were shooting at occupants of a black Mercedes. A number of 911 callers also said the vehicles were cutting in and out of traffic at high speed, and some said the occupants of the Mercedes were also shooting at the Nissan.

It is not known how many shots were fired, and there were no reports of any injuries, but at least one other vehicle was struck by a bullet. Surrey RCMP confirmed that shots were fired at the scene.

At around 1:30 p.m. another 911 call reporting that a white Nissan was following behind a black Mercedes at high speed heading east on Fraser Highway at 155th.

Surrey R.C.M.P. are still hunting for the occupants of both vehicles and are asking that anyone who may have seen either of these incidents are asked to call the Surrey R.C.M.P at 604-599-0502 or contact Crime Stoppers.
