A South Surrey man is facing charges of aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing two men outside of a Marine Drive pub in May.

Police say a 37-year-old and a 28-year-old – both Surrey residents – suffered abdominal wounds in the May 5 incident, which occurred just after 2 a.m. in the 15500-block of Marine Drive.

It is unclear what sparked the altercation.

"The accused came out and started yelling at the two (victims) that he was going to stab them," Const. Janelle Shoihet said.

One man was arrested at a nearby hotel.

Curtis Alexander Bunkowksi (aka Curtis Alexander Bunkowski), 22, is due back in court on July 16.
