Storm causes power outages, closure of some Surrey schools Thursday

Several Surrey schools remain closed as of 11:30 a.m.

The storm has closed several Surrey schools.

The storm has knocked out power to thousands across the region and some schools have been closed as a result.

As of 11:15, power is restored at:

  • ​Fraser Heights Secondary
  • Elgin Park Secondary (classes resume at noon)
  • Hazelgrove Elementary
  • Chantrell Creek Elementary
  • Prince Charles Elementary
  • Bothwell Elementary

Power remains out at:

  • Clayton Heights Secondary
  • Pacific Heights Elementary
  • Royal Heights Elementary
  • East Kensington Elementary
  • Coast Meridian Elementary
  • Frost Road Elementary
