Surrey RCMP continue to investigate a claim of forcible confinement that led to a grow operation.

A claim by a man who said he was forcibly confined led  Surrey police to a marijuana grow operation in Clayton this week.

Just after midnight on Friday morning, a 26-year-old Delta man called his father saying he had been held against his will and needed a ride home.

The father called police, who attended and received conflicting reports from the man who was drunk and uncooperative.

Surrey Mounties attended the 18800-block of 72 Avenue house where the abduction reportedly happened and noticed some unusual activity in the home.

Police called for assistance from the emergency response team.

About six hours after the original report, two individuals emerged from the home. Police checked the house and found a small marijuana grow operation. No injuries were reported.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
