METRO VANCOUVER — A 47-year-old Surrey man has been arrested in Washington state for allegedly pursuing a 12-year-old girl for sex.
Kuldip (Kelly) Singh Mahal was arrested Tuesday after crossing the border at Blaine, according to a news release from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
He was picked up at a park in Burlington where he had allegedly agreed to meet the young girl.
In fact, the child was really an undercover agent with Homeland Security Investigations.
Mahal is set to appear in Seattle federal court today at 2 p.m.
More information is expected to be released later today.
