A 59-year-old Surrey man has died in Mission after being found lying unconscious and face down on a sidewalk on the 33000 block of North Railway Avenue at about 11 a.m. on Monday.
RCMP do not suspect foul play, and after speaking to witnesses they believe he fell from a ladder. WorkSafe BC attended the scene, but it is unknown if the man was working at the time or for whom.
One witness said he saw the man on the ladder and had turned away for about four minutes when he saw the man lying on the ground. Bystanders began chest compressions prior to the arrival of emergency services.
The exact cause of death has not been determined.
The man's name is not being released at the request of the family.
The B.C. Coroners Service is now investigating the matter to determine what happened.
