Surrey man recovering after being stabbed in the back

SURREY — A 22-year-old Surrey man is recovering from surgery after being stabbed in the back in the parking lot of a McDonalds restaurant near Scott Road SkyTrain station early Wednesday evening.

“We’re confident it was targeted,” Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet said. “We’re still trying to establish a motive.”

The man young man was there to meet a woman, Paquet said, when two other men “possibly associated” with the woman attacked the victim.

Both suspects are Asian, short, in their late 20s and one is slim and the other is fat. They left the scene in a vehicle, possibly a van.

The stabbing happened shortly after 6 p.m.
