SURREY — A Surrey man sustained a non-lethal stab wound in his upper back shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday near the intersection of 133rd Street and 100th Avenue.

The victim is known to police and did not cooperate with the investigation.

“At this point, it’s a bit of a challenge,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet. “He made it very clear he was not going to speak to our officers.”

Police could not find any witnesses in the area and the investigation is still ongoing.

“We’re trying to shed some light on what appears to be a targeted assault, but it is somewhat challenging without the cooperation of our only victim,” Paquet said.

If anyone has information regarding the incident, they are asked to call 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
