Surrey Mounties seek witnesses to Sunday morning shooting

NEWTON — A man has been shot and police are seeking witnesses to a shooting that happened outside a house located at 134A Street and 81st Avenue in Surrey Sunday morning.

Surrey RCMP received a call about 6:30 a.m. of multiple shots heard. Neighbours reported hearing a loud argument and then hearing a number of shots outside a home.

When officers arrived they found a 30-year-old man who had been shot. He was transported to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Witnesses report seeing a brown van as well as a black pickup leaving the scene after the shooting. One of these vehicles is believed to have a broken window.

This event appears to be targeted. The victim is well known to police.
