The Surrey District Parent Advisory Council is calling on parents in Surrey and across the province to make their voices heard in the ongoing labour dispute.
As students entered their 91st day out of school, D-PAC co-president Bob Holmes urged parents to let their views be known by contacting the parties involved directly and by turning out to another rally in Surrey this weekend, in an effort to get students back to class.
"I think [parents] can all agree that they want students back in school as soon as possible," Holmes said in a statement released Thursday.
"Whatever parent's views are, we'd like to see them contacting the parties in this dispute to let them know how they feel, whether it's their MLA, the premier and relevant ministers, the teachers' federation and associations, or all of the above," he said.
A group of Surrey parents will be rallying for the third time at 5 p.m. this Sunday (Sept. 14) at Holland Park, 13428 Old Yale Road.
DPAC members will be there, and organizers hope to see more than the 200 to 300 people who attended last weekend's rally turn out this time.
