VANCOUVER — A Surrey RCMP officer is scheduled to appear in Vancouver provincial court next month, accused of assault in connection with an alleged incident involving security at a PNE concert last September.

Const. Daniel Dallaire was off duty during the incident alleged to have occurred Sept. 15, 2013. He was charged with one count of assault following a Vancouver Police investigation.

Const. Brian Montague, a VPD spokesman, declined to discuss the nature of the allegation, as it’s “now before the courts.”

Dallaire will be back in court on May 27.

A press statement released by Surrey RCMP’s Chief Supt Bill Fordy notes that a Code of Conduct investigation is also underway and that Dallaire “remains on operational duties at this time.

“As the matter is before the courts, and the investigation was handled by Vancouver Police, we are not able to provide any further information or details,” the RCMP statement reads.
