SURREY — Police are investigating a mysterious death in Newton after the Surrey RCMP received reports Thursday afternoon of a foul odor in the neighbourhood.
Surrey RCMP Sgt. Dale Carr said it’s being investigated as a “sudden death.â€
Police cars and yellow barricade tape surround the Lala Food Stop store, above which there are residential quarters, at 121A Street and 82nd Avenue.
Police said neighbours reported not having seen the deceased for about a month. Police have not released the gender or name of the deceased.
