NEWTON — Police in Surrey are seeking a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that sent an elderly pedestrian to hospital Saturday night.
Surrey RCMP were alerted to 120th Street near 80th Avenue around 6:30 p.m. by the B.C. Ambulance Service, which was treating the 78-year-old man at the scene.
The man had been crossing 120th Street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle, which fled the scene.
The victim, a Surrey resident, was taken to hospital where he was treated for cuts, scrapes and a possible fracture.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed the vehicle leaving the scene to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
