A Boundary Park homeowner is grateful after the Surrey School District removed a fallen tree from his property.

He said he noticed one of the school’s trees had fallen onto his property on Oct. 20. The tree could have fallen earlier, he said, but he only noticed it after he returned home from having surgery.
Other than knocking out a couple of window screens, the tree didn’t do any damage to Henschell’s home.
The school district removed the tree Wednesday.
Doug Strachan, manager of communication services, said the school district doesn’t normally remove its fallen trees from neighbouring property.
“The specific circumstances of why we would do it for any individual is not something that we would discuss publicly,” Strachan said.
It’s not the first time the school district has removed a tree from Henschell’s property.
Henschell said the district removed a fallen tree from his property last “May or June.” He said that tree “didn’t quite touch the house.”
Strachan wouldn’t comment on the specifics of that tree removal either.
“The few times that we have done it, it’s been because of very specific circumstances and to get into it with more detail would risk the privacy of the individual.”
