Surrey shooting leaves one man dead overnight

SURREY — One man is dead after an overnight shooting in Cloverdale.

Police were called around midnight to a residence in the 17400-block 57th Avenue after reports of shots fired.

"When officers arrived we found that a male had in fact been shot," said RCMP spokesman Insp. Tim Shields.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Shields.

The crime scene is cordoned off this morning and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.

No suspects or suspect descriptions have been identified but an update was expected around 8 a.m.
