Surrey stabbing victim not cooperating with police

Truck dropped man off at hospital Monday night, but driver didn't stick around.

Surrey RCMP say a man is in critical condition after being stabbed in the abdomen Monday night.

Police were informed at about 11:20 p.m. June 29 that a 29-year-old male had been dropped off at a local hospital with a stomach wound.

Surveillance video from the hospital shows the victim was dropped off by a grey or green Ford F150 pickup truck. The licence plate was not visible and the driver took off.

The victim is known to police but is not cooperating with investigators.

“The unwillingness of this victim to cooperate with police certainly impacts our investigation,” said Cpl. Scotty Schumann. “Nevertheless, we will continue to investigate this matter thoroughly in an effort to find the suspect and hold them to account.”

Anyone with information about the the stabbing is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca
