Suspect in Wings stabbings still sought by investigators

SURREY — Police have not yet arrested a suspect in a double stabbing at a Surrey restaurant earlier this month.

Shortly after the attack, police released some video stills of a suspect in the Wings Tap and Grill double stabbing hoping someone might identify him.

Two male employees were stabbed at the Newton restaurant on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 2. "We have most of our major crimes section dedicated to getting this guy," Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet said.

One was stabbed in the shoulder and hand and the other in his abdomen.

Paquet said police suspect the stabber had intended to steal something from the restaurant. The employees confronted him when he entered it through the back door. It happened shortly after noon, in the 7100-block of King George Boulevard, as diners ate their lunches.

Police are looking for a man in his 40s with white or olive skin, about five feet 10 and of large build. He was wearing a black jacket at the time.

"Identifying and apprehending the suspect has remained a priority for our investigators," Paquet said. "We are asking the public for any information on this case in order to assist us in taking this individual into custody."

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
