Police were called to the 5200-block of 168 Street early Thursday after masked

Police are appealing for information in connection with an early-morning home invasion Thursday in Surrey.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. Jan. 8, when at least four males wearing masks kicked in the front door of a two-storey home in the 5200-block of 168 Street.

Four young adults were in the home at the time. One, a 24-year-old man, suffered minor injuries when he was struck with a crowbar by one of the intruders.

Police believe the incident was targeted, and that the culprits may have been looking for drugs. However, they confirmed that the Mounties'' familiarity with the residence dates back prior to when the current occupants moved in earlier this year.

A police dog unit was dispatched and officers canvassed the neighbourhood, however, no suspects were apprehended.

Anyone with information on the incident or perpetrators is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
