SURREY — Three young people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries Sunday night after the car they were in slammed into a pole at King George Highway and 64th Avenue.

Surrey firefighters used the jaws-of-life to free them.

It happened at about 7:45 p.m. The three are Surrey residents, all male. The driver is 18 and the passengers, 17 and 12.

Police are investigating.

"Speed appears to be a significant factor," Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet said.
