Thursday's Surrey stabbing victim dies in hospital

SURREY — Police are investigating Surrey’s 17th homicide of the year after 17-year-old Jaylen Sandhu, who was stabbed multiple times in Fleetwood last Thursday afternoon,  died in hospital on Friday.

The Integrated Homicide Team has taken over the case.

Surrey Mounties were called to the 16300-block of 88th Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, after receiving 911 calls, and found the victim suffering from stab wounds.

"The victim was able to run away from the scene and sought assistance from a nearby residence," said Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound, of IHIT.
