Police believe a double shooting that sent two men to hospital on Friday afternoon was targeted.

Surrey RCMP were called to an area in the Panorama Ridge neighbourhood at just before 3 p.m. Aug. 2 after a report that two vehicles had exchanged gunfire.

Shortly after, police heard from a local hospital that two men had been admitted with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Mounties were quickly able to link the victims in hospital with the shooting incident and said it has “all the earmarks” of a targeted shooting.

Witnesses described the two vehicles involved as a gold-coloured compact car and a dark-coloured foreign sports car.

As of Friday, two men – a 19- and 21-year-old – were undergoing treatment. One was listed in critical condition, but is expected to survive. The second sustained less serious injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-TIPS to remain anonymous.
