A 29-year-old Mission man who is said to be known to police has been identified as the victim of a Sunday night shooting in Langley Township.

Police believe the man was shot in the parking lot of the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove before he was discovered in a fast food restaurant parking lot around 7 p.m. at 264 Street and 56 Avenue in the Gloucester neighbourhood.

Several shell casings were found in the large empty zoo parking lot.

The man’s injuries are described as serious but non-life-threatening.

Police have not been able to speak to him yet, but he was in the company of another man who has provided information to assist with the investigation.

Langley RCMP said while it is still early in the investigation, it appears to have been a targeted shooting.

Update: Police say the incident was not related to the homicide earlier in the day on 72 Ave in Langley.
