UPDATE: Missing Surrey man located

Mounties and family were concerned for the welfare of Colin John Hughes.

Surrey RCMP confirmed Monday morning (July 8) that Hughes has been located.

Surrey Mounties are asking for public assistance in finding a man reported missing on Tuesday.

Colin John Hughes was last seen at a family function on June 30. He was believed to have been home at around noon on July 1 at his home in the 6500 block of 130 St.

Police and family are concerned for his mental health and well-being. He has never been reported missing before and does not have any addictions issues.

Hughes is an avid cyclist and likes to ride considerable distances in a day, frequenting the dyke areas in Delta as well as Centennial Beach. He may be anywhere in the Lower Mainland, including Whistler.

He is described as a 49-year-old Caucasian male, 6’0″,176 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He may be wearing tan, knee-length shorts and runners and in possession/riding a blue Rocky Mountain-Whistler Edition bicycle, similar to the one in photo.
