Traffic was tied up for several hours after an overturned dump truck forced the closure of one lane on Highway 99 heading to White Rock and South Surrey.

An overturned dump truck tied up traffic for several hours on Highway 99 near the 32 Avenue off-ramp in South Surrey Monday afternoon.

The Kenworth went off the road into some brush and rolled onto the passenger side door around 3 p.m. after a front tire blew out.

Police said the driver of the truck was not injured.

It took two tow trucks to remove the damaged vehicle and the "pup" it was towing.

Traffic was limited to a single lane heading toward South Surrey and White Rock for over two hours while crews worked to right the truck and tow it away.
