A three-year-old girl was sent to hospital in serious condition after falling from a window from a home in the 13900 block of 64A Avenue in Surrey on Sunday night.
According to an RCMP news release, the child had been on the second-storey of the residence and leaned on a window.
“The screen had given way, and the child fell through the second story window and landed on a patio below,” the RCMP said.

None of the family members with the child were close enough to grab her.

“This appears to be a tragic accident that could have ended much worse,” said Sgt. Murray Henderson.
The Ministry of Children and Family Development will be following up with the family.
