WHALLEY - The streets of Whalley are going to get pretty colourful this weekend, as Color Me Rad hits the neighbourhood for the first time on Saturday (May 23).
More than 5,000 people flocked to Cloverdale last year to be blasted with rainbow-hued cornstarch along a five-kilometre route, for the first-ever Surrey edition of the event.
This year, Holland Park is the venue of choice and things are set to kick off at 9 a.m. on May 23.
It's one of more than 100 similar events staged around the world by a Utah-based company that held its first-ever event in 2012. Competing events, including The Color Run, were also launched that year.
The so-called "colour run" is billed as a convergence of fun and fitness.
