Occupant suffered serious head injury in Saturday night accident

One person reportedly suffered serious head injuries when a car crashed during stormy weather Saturday night in Langley.

Around 9:15 p.m. Township of Langley crews responded to a report of a crash in the 20800 block of Hwy 1 westbound.

Crews arrived to find a single vehicle had rolled multiple times off the freeway, taking out a chain link fence, before rolling back towards the freeway and coming to rest on all four wheels.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to free the lone occupant who was transported to Royal Columbian hospital by paramedics reportedly with a serious head injury.

The slow lane was closed on Hwy-1 while crews dealt with the incident.
