Woman found after absence from rehab program in Coquitlam

She was reported on an unauthorized absence from the Brookside cottages

Coquitlam RCMP say the woman has been found.

————————————-

Police are looking for a 46-year-old patient missing from the rehabilitation and recovery program on the grounds of the former Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam.

She was reported on an unauthorized absence on Sunday, said RCMP.

She is described as First Nations, 5’4”, 120 lbs., with brown eyes and long black hair, last seen wearing a grey and white hoodie, a white puffy jacket, and dark grey pants.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2019-18856.

Please note: This is a corrected story. BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services has since informed Black Press Media that the woman was not a patient of a forensic psychiatric hospital, as indicated by the RCMP. She was not in the program because she was in conflict with the law. The public was never in danger. Authorities were simply concerned for her well-being. Black Press Media has removed her photo and name.
