Woman on scooter struck and killed in Surrey

Driver of van remained at the scene and drugs, speed are not suspected as factors in the accident

A woman was killed while crossing the street on her scooter last weekend.

A senior is dead after begin struck by a van in her scooter while crossing the road on the weekend.

On Saturday at 8 p.m., a 75-year-old Surrey woman was crossing King George Boulevard, heading eastbound on 96 Avenue.

A woman also driving eastbound on 96 Avenue was turning left onto King George Boulevard when she struck the woman on the scooter.

The senior was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The 23-year-old driver at of the van remained at the scene.

Police do not suspect that speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
