STORIE, Alexander (Alick) born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1913, passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2008. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Sandra (Al), his grandchildren Shannon (Dave), Margo (Karl), Alex Jr. (Kellie) and Amber; his niece Ruth; his daughter-in-law Cathy (Rob), and his many good friends. He felt blessed to have had many special moments with his 4 great grandchildren: Avery,

Kaitlyn, Mason and Brianna. Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth and his loving son, Gordon.

The greatest joys in his life were spending time with his family and friends, singing Scottish songs, and growing roses. Many people will remember fondly his annual concert called, "The Gathering of the Clans" at the Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver. He organized and sang at the Robbie Burn's supper at the Silver Harbour and at Evergreen extended care in North Vancouver for many years. Alex had the pleasure of introducing his great grandson, Avery, at one of his latter Burn's suppers. He directed the choir at Kennedy House in Delta and enjoyed singing in the choir at the Newton Senior's centre. He was president of the Vancouver Rose Society and won many prizes for his roses. At the age of 92, while living at Imperial Place in Surrey, he created a rose garden which continues to be greatly enjoyed by the residents and tended by his friend, Derek.

There will be a celebration of his life at First Memorial Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, on Tuesday, March 25th at 2:00 pm. Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
