Anna Wiebe (Sawchuk), 92, passed away on August 22, 2019.
Anna was born in the Ukraine and at two months old immigrated to Canada with her mother, father and four siblings. The Sawchuk family settled in Saskatchewan and eventually grew into a family of 12. At 19 Anna left Wadena and moved to B.C where she met and married Peter Wiebe in 1950. They raised six successful children.
Anna was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and later a loving and devoted grandmother and great grandmother.
Anna's talents were many, be it sewing, knitting, gardening or cooking. Her traditional Ukrainian meals were so enjoyed and looked forward to by her family.
Anna lived her life to the fullest. During her lifetime, her love of travel took her to many places throughout the world. She also enjoyed her aquatic workouts at one of the two senior centres she belonged to. Her friendships were extremely important to her and she looked forward to meeting for bingo, shopping trips and for twice weekly coffee get-togethers. Later the new friends she made at Fleetwood Villa also became an important part of her life.
Lots of great memories and stories were formed over the summer months when Anna entertained and enjoyed her beloved grandchildren. Being a big part of their lives as they grew into adulthood gave Anna a lot of pleasure.
Our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt will be missed. She has touched each of us, and always made us feel special.
Anna is survived by six children, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Suncreek Village for the excellent care they provided.
A family celebration of life will be held at later date.
"Gone but far too loved to ever be forgotten."
